I deleted a broadcast video and it looked like it deleted just fine. (I can no longer find it under my videos button from my channel page.)
But I received the following email:

Your broadcast from today is ready to be edited. When you’ve created a new highlight, we’ll share it on your channel page and send an email to your followers letting them know. You can also export highlights to Youtube.

The best highlights are shorter than one hour. For example, you're better off making one highlight of each match rather than a long highlight of an entire play session. It also makes sense to create very short highlights of a particularly awesome moment.
