After days of trying to figure out why I wasn't receiving the emails to reset my password I grew tired of trying and setup a new account with the same email address. Upon not receiving that email to verify the new account either I began digging in my email settings...
I personally use Gmail and found that there was a block on all twitch emails to automatically delete them. Please check this in your email account to make sure it isnt setup to do the same. I'm not even sure how it set it up because I don't remember ever doing it.
If you use Gmail, look for the gear dropdown icon and click settings then click the tab labeled "filters". There you will see a list that might contain the twitch - delete all filter, if so delete it and you should be good to go.
I hope this helps some of you because it worked like a charm for me.
