When trying to broadcast from my Xbox One, about 95% of the time, it says "live" but my Twitch page says offline.
I've done googling on this issue, and I've seen about 10 different attempts to fix this problem, but none of them consistently work for me. This includes:
- turning the Xbox fully off and power-cycling it by unplugging it
- reinstalling the Twitch app
- setting my Xbox's DNS to Google (8.8.8.8)
- disconnecting and reconnecting my Twitch profile from the app
On average, it takes me 15-20 attempts before I can get the stream to work, and usually I just give up. From what I've read, many people have the same problem I have and have not found a solution. This must be a problem with the Twitch app itself, because I can broadcast using OBS on my PC just fine, even within minutes of trying to broadcast on my Xbox. My connection isn't overly strong (I usually get 700 kbps or so when asking the Twitch app to recommend a bitrate), but it doesn't seem related to the glitch at all. Sometimes I will stream at 500 kbps just fine, and other times when my connection is stronger it won't work.
I'm hoping someone can direct me to a fix that I haven't been able to find using Google, or to a Twitch representative who knows what is going on. As it stands, the Twitch app on Xbox One is totally unusable for me.
